  • Saturday 22 March, - Young Storyteller of the Year 2014
    Young Storyteller of the Year, held in Birmingham every March, is one of the most exciting and entertaining events in the storytelling calendar. Come along to listen to young storytellers strutting their stuff at the Library Theatre from 11am to 5pm, with prizes awarded at the end of the day. It's a most exciting event, and admission is only £5 - great value for money!

  • People Dancing is a programme of activity founded on the principle of encouraging mass participation in dance, as parts of the West Midlands cultural activity leading up to the Olympics in 2012 in that little town on the Thames!
    Building on the rich and diverese dance infrastructure that exists in the west Midlands, they want to get people of all ages, skills and abilities up and dancing acoss the region!!!

  • William Shakespeare's Birthday celebrations take place annually in April. Shakespeare Morris also usually mark this occasion.

  • Upton upon Severn Folk Festival usually takes place on the early May Bank Holiday weekend.

  • Wheaton Aston Folk Festival usually takes place in mid May.

  • The Traditional Arts Team also publishes FOLK MONTHLY , an A5 magazine of 50-60 pages which covers folk and related events across the Midlands, featuring adverts for clubs, festivals, sessions, bands etc, central diary pages, articles, news and reviews. Available on subscription and sold at folk clubs.
